3 of 4 Tiverton Day Cares Make You Call During Business Hours
We measured every day care Google returns for Tiverton, RI. They average 4.76 stars. On a phone, the median site takes 6.6 seconds to show anything, and three of the four have no way to enroll except a phone call placed while you are at work.

A parent looking for day care in Tiverton is not browsing. They have a start date, a commute, and a shrinking number of weeks. They search on a phone, usually at night, usually after the kids are down.
Google returns four day cares for Tiverton. We measured all four on July 21, 2026. Here is what that parent runs into.
First, the part nobody writes about#
These four businesses hold 40 Google reviews between them and average 4.76 stars. Not one sits below 4.2.
That number is the whole story of the sector. You cannot buy it, you cannot automate it, and you cannot fake it across four independent operators. Parents hand over the single thing they care most about in the world and then go out of their way to write a five-star review about it. Whatever is happening inside these buildings is working.
Everything below is about the twelve inches between that reputation and the phone in a parent's hand.
The measurements#
| Site | Rank | Rating | Reviews | LCP | Contact form | Online booking | Analytics |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Site A | 1 | 5.0 | 19 | 4.6s | yes | no | yes |
| Site B | 2 | 5.0 | 7 | 6.6s | no | no | no |
| Site C | 3 | 4.2 | 12 | 6.5s | yes | no | no |
| Site D | 4 | 5.0 | 2 | 13.7s | no | yes | no |
All four sites are live, all four are on HTTPS, and all four have valid certificates. Nobody here is neglecting their business. The gaps are specific and they are all fixable.
- 4 of 4 fail Google's "good" speed threshold. All four are in the "poor" band, over 4.0 seconds.
- 3 of 4 offer no way to book, enroll, or request a tour online. You call, during business hours, which are also your working hours.
- 2 of 4 have no contact form at all.
- 1 of 4 has a phone number you cannot tap on a phone.
- 1 of 4 publishes a phone number on the website that does not match the one on their Google listing.
- 3 of 4 have no LocalBusiness schema, so Google is guessing at their hours and address.
- 3 of 4 have no analytics installed at all.
That last one is the reason the rest of the list exists. Three of these four operators have no way of knowing any of this is happening. Nobody has failed to act. Nobody has been told.
Why "just call us" is the expensive option#
The most consequential finding is not the load time. It is that three of four day cares in Tiverton accept inquiries through exactly one channel, and that channel is open only during the hours the inquiring parent is at work.
Think about what that costs on both ends.
A parent with a question at 9:40pm has nowhere to put it. They will not remember at 10am, because at 10am they are working. The lead does not get rejected. It evaporates.
And on your end, every inquiry that does land arrives as a phone call in the middle of your day, while you are with children. You take it, or it goes to voicemail and you call back at 5pm and get their voicemail, and now it is Thursday.
This is not a marketing problem. It is an operations problem that shows up as a marketing number.
Automation has always been about eliminating work that is repetitive, and often dangerous or boring.
Answering "do you have infant openings in September" for the four hundredth time is exactly that work. It is repetitive, it is boring, and it is currently being done by the person who should be running the room.
The federal government's own small-business guidance lands in the same place. The SBA's page on AI for small business lists, under how this actually helps you: "Add a website chatbot that can answer common questions or complete an order. Automate your phone service to route calls to the right department." (SBA)
You do not need a chatbot. You need a form that works at 9:40pm.
The free fix you can do today#
Pick up your own phone. Open your own website. Time how long it takes before you can read anything.
Then check three things, in this order. All three are free and all three take under an hour combined.
1. Make your phone number tappable (10 minutes). One of the four sites here shows a phone number as plain text. On a phone, that means a parent has to memorise it, leave your site, and dial. Most do not. The fix is one line: your number needs to be a tel: link. Any website editor has a "link" button; the destination is tel:4015551234. If you cannot find it, ask whoever built the site to make the number clickable. It is a five-minute request.
2. Make sure your two phone numbers match (5 minutes). One site here lists a number that is not the number on its Google listing. Open your Google Business Profile, open your website, and compare them character for character. A mismatch confuses Google about whether those are the same business, and it confuses parents about which number is real. Fix whichever one is stale.
3. Put one form on one page (30 minutes). Not an enrollment system. A form with four fields: parent name, phone, child's age, desired start month. Every website builder in existence ships this for free. Point it at your email. That is it.
That third one is the whole ballgame. A parent who fills that out at 9:40pm on a Tuesday is a parent you can call back at 9:15 the next morning, with their child's age already in front of you, before they have called anyone else.
What Monday looks like#
If you run a day care in Tiverton, here is the order of operations, cheapest first.
- Add analytics (20 minutes, free). Google Analytics or Plausible. You need to know how many people land on your site and leave. Three of your four competitors are flying blind. Stop being the fourth.
- Add the contact form (30 minutes, free). Above.
- Add LocalBusiness schema (1 hour, free). Three of four sites here have none. This is the structured data that tells Google your hours, address, and phone directly instead of making it guess from page text. Google publishes the spec and a free testing tool.
- Fix the speed (varies). Your median competitor takes 6.6 seconds. The slowest takes 13.7. Almost always this is uncompressed photographs of the classrooms, which is a good problem to have, because it means you have photographs of the classrooms. Compressing them is a mechanical fix.
- Then, and only then, look at online tour booking.
The speed number is the one worth sitting with. Google's own threshold for "good" is 2.5 seconds. Every site we measured in Tiverton is in the "poor" band. A parent on a phone in a parking lot does not know what LCP means. They know your page did not load and the next one did.
Method, and what we could not measure#
Every number here is reproducible by anyone. Paste any Tiverton day care's URL into pagespeed.web.dev and check our work.
Sample: the 4 day care businesses Google Places returns for "day care in Tiverton, RI", excluding franchises and chains. Four is a small sample, and we are not going to dress it up as more than it is. It is not a statistic; it is a census. It happens to be every option a Tiverton parent actually sees.
Speed: mobile Largest Contentful Paint via Google PageSpeed Insights, measured July 21, 2026.
What we could NOT measure:
- Field data was available for 0 of 4 sites. All four LCP figures above are lab estimates, not real-visitor data. Google reports field data only for sites with enough traffic; none of these four have it. Treat the numbers as directionally right, not as gospel.
- Facebook and Instagram presence. These cannot be verified server-side with any reliability, so we did not check and we are not claiming anything about them.
- How often anyone posts. We detect links, not cadence.
- Anything inside the building. Nothing above is a judgment about the care these four businesses provide. The reviews are the evidence on that, and the reviews are excellent.
Every business above is anonymised. None of them asked to be measured, and none of them will be named here.
If you run a day care, a preschool, or any business in Tiverton, Fall River, or the surrounding towns and want to know what a parent's phone actually shows them, I will run the same measurement on your site and send you the numbers. No pitch attached.
